Kansai Cricket Association

Umpire and Scoring Course

On February 11th, 2017 (Saturday), the Kinki Cricket Association held an Umpire and Scoring Workshop at Kyoto Gakuen University Uzumasa Campus. Following the previous year, this activity was led by Shuwa Kaji, a fourth-year student at Doshisha University, with the aim of improving the level and knowledge of cricket in the Kansai region.

Attendees were primarily students from three universities in Kansai: Shitennoji University, Doshisha University, and Ryukoku University. There were also some students who had only been playing cricket for a few months.

The workshop covered a wide range of topics, from the basics like types of outs to more advanced topics like how to distinguish LBW (Leg Before Wicket). It was a comprehensive program, and all participants were earnestly engaged in the activities. There were also group work sessions, creating a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the workshop.

The Kinki Cricket Association is committed to continuing such activities to enhance the level of cricket in Kansai. The next Umpire and Scoring Workshop will be held on March 15th (Wednesday), and they look forward to welcoming many participants.
